Your Car Will Find A Parking Place – By Itself

Your new Lexus or Toyota may soon be able to find a parking lot near your destination – and tell you the lot’s location, its hours, and what it costs to park there.

Parkopedia, a parking information service provider, announced that it has been selected by Toyota and Lexus to provide a new in-car parking service on select vehicles via the Toyota Entune and Lexus Enform App Suites.

The service, which will launch in early 2018, will feature information on more than 20 million off-street parking spots across the United States.

The service will direct users to the parking location nearest and most convenient to their destination. It will also display information such as the facility’s name, opening hours and pricing.

Eugene Tsyrklevich, CEO of Parkopedia, said, “In the era of the connected car, it is exciting to see leading OEMs such as Toyota and Lexus underlining the importance of parking by making an effort to add parking service applications.”

Parkopedia, based in London, provides parking information to Apple, Garmin, TomTom and most auto makers, including details on 60 million parking spaces in over 8000 cities, including real-time parking space availability in over 2000 cities.
